Analogue telephone line

A traditional fixed telephone access line using a local telephone number. The network behind it has been modernized, but existing analogue telephone services and rules still differ from fibre or mobile-based fixed phones.

Check basic charge, call rates, caller-ID options, alarm or security equipment, fax and the effect of a power outage. A service that looks like a fixed telephone may instead use fibre, CATV or an LTE/5G adapter and therefore have different emergency-calling, battery and compatibility conditions.

When moving a number, ask whether it was originally issued by NTT East/West or another provider and whether the destination service accepts that number range. Never cancel the old service before the number-porting instructions say to do so.
