Individual credit purchase agreement
個別信用購入あっせん契約 kobetsu shinyō kōnyū assen keiyaku
A credit agreement in which a finance provider pays the seller for a specific phone purchase and the customer repays the provider in installments.
This is legally separate from the mobile communications contract even when both charges appear on the same bill. Cancelling or porting the phone line normally does not erase the remaining device balance.
Read the total cash price, number and amount of payments, fees, payment dates, late-payment handling, ownership or return-program conditions, and the clauses on credit-information use and registration before agreeing.
