Fibre line reuse
光回線再利用 hikari kaisen sairiyō
A coordinated switch between eligible NTT wholesale fibre and shared-access fibre services that reuses the existing drop cable instead of installing a second one.
The scheme began in 2025 for participating providers and eligible facilities. Reusing the outside drop cable can let the new-service opening work and old-service closure work happen on the same day, reducing duplicate cabling.
It is not available for every provider, building or route. There can still be an on-site visit, indoor work, equipment replacement, downtime and fees. Confirm eligibility and the exact same-day sequence with both providers before cancelling anything.
