Electricity retailer switching
電気の切り替え・スイッチング denki no kirikae / suicchingu
Changing the electricity retailer for an already powered home without stopping the physical electricity supply.
The new retailer normally coordinates the switch using the supply-point identification number and current contract details. The physical wires and local distribution operator remain; there should be no deliberate gap in supply and the old and new retailers settle their respective periods.
The effective date is assigned through the switching process, often around a meter-reading schedule rather than the application day. Compare base charge, usage tiers, fuel-cost adjustment, renewable surcharge, market-linked risk, points and cancellation conditions—not only the mobile bundle discount.
